Alchemist Accelerator
Alchemist is a venture-backed accelerator focused on accelerating the development of seed-stage ventures that monetize from enterprises (not consumers). CB Insights rated Alchemist the top accelerator in 2016 based on median funding rates of its grads (YC was #2). The accelerator’s primary screening criteria is on teams, with primacy placed on having distinctive technical co-founders. The organization provides seed investment into companies it admits (typically $36K), and provides founders a structured path to traction, fundraising, mentorship, and community over the course of a 6 month program. Our backers include many of the top corporate and VC funds in the Valley — including Khosla Ventures, DFJ, Cisco, GE, next47(Siemens), and Salesforce, among others. The accelerator seeds around 75 enterprise-monetizing ventures / year. Notable alumni include LaunchDarkly, Rigetti Quantum Computing, mPharma, Matternet, and Mightyhive.

Billiken Angels Network
The Billiken Angels Network (BAN) was part of the Entrepreneurship Program of the John Cook School of Business at Saint Louis University. Announced in 2007, it started operating in September 2008 with twenty angels ready to fund suitable opportunities, and a $1,000,000 sidecar co-investment fund made available by the University from its endowment. It closed in September 2017, having made 34 investments in 20 companies. The Billiken Angels’ tag line was “…the deals that make a difference” and that is the goal of the BAN – to identify and invest funds and expertise in those businesses that can make a difference in the economy of the St. Louis region, and in the lives of the people living in the region and elsewhere. The BAN considered businesses at any stage (seed, start-up, existing, growing, etc.) and in any industry (retail, wholesale, manufacturing, service, financial, internet, high-tech, etc.). BAN invested in firms in the St. Louis region, and only considered firms outside of the region when the firm has SLU DNA (firms owned by current or former SLU students, current or retired SLU faculty and staff, or firms using intellectual property licensed from SLU). Membership was open to accredited investors only. All BAN members had a strong commitment to help develop entrepreneurship through education at Saint Louis University in addition to investment.

The London Fund
The London Fund invests in IP-rich high-growth companies with a particular focus direct to consumer technology and products. By actively partnering with entrepreneurs who create technology they can identify, extend and defend, their London Fund vehicle provides between USD $500k and USD $50 mm in early-stage and growth capital. Their team helps entrepreneurs shift the balance away from established companies. Operating with the philosophy that disruptive, high-growth companies hold intrinsic, quantifiable value, The London Fund works closely with founders to help identify and extend a company’s intellectual property assets into a truly defendable position. While all their partners bring strong operational and entrepreneurial backgrounds to every portfolio company, they also show companies a clear pathway towards an exit. As founders with 20 exits and four IPOs at their back, they pride themselves on knowing how to build successful businesses with the lowest weighted average cost of capital. This focus on seeking, developing and defending quantifiable IP forms the fundamental difference between The London Fund and other investors.
